Makeup Brush Cleaning!

One of the main ways for your makeup to look flawless is by cleaning your makeup brushes. By doing this you keep bacteria from growing on your brushes which could cause breakouts, in general its best to keep them clean! I cleaned my brushes today because they were getting for lack of a better word NASTY!

When cleaning my brushes I use MAC brush cleanser because the majority of my brushes are MAC, but I have also used the Bobbi Brown brush cleaner, it is another really good option.

I'm gonna show you a few pictures of me cleaning the brushes.

Your first step is to get the brush wet, then you need to squeeze on the MAC brush cleanser on it make sure and rub it through your brush thoroughly to get all the makeup/dirt out.

This is the dirt and makeup that came out of my foundation brush! YUUKKEE!!

Finally you need to lay your freshly cleaned brushes on a clean towel to dry. I usually wash mine during the day and let them dry overnight.

Thanks for reading! I love you all lots! :) Remember to follow my blog and twitter! Comment if you have any questions/comments on cleaning your makeup brushes! :) -Amelia

Haul!!

Last weekend I went shopping! :) I thought you all might like to see my purchases and I'm gonna tell you little about them and all that good stuff! I went to an outlet mall, and I shopped at the stores Maurices, Old Navy, and Rue 21 (btw, this is a very small haul)

Here's my bags, I'm sure you really don't care about them.. HAHA

These two tanks were my first purchase of the day at Maurices, I don't usually shop there but I found these really cute tops on SALE. Honestly who could pass up half off tanks?! ;) I spent $30.00 on these two shirts!

My second purchase was this bikini its a blue floral pattern I got it at Old Navy, on SALE again! I spent $20.00 and its still early in the summer so I'm sure I'll get some good use out of it!

My final buy was from Rue 21. Its a really chic pearl and flower charm necklace. I thought this was a super cute piece that could complete almost any outfit. Plus of course it was on sale, for $7.00! :)

Those were all my buys! I hope you enjoyed reading! Thank you for taking the time too! :) Remember to follow my blog and my twitter and also comment! :) Thanks loves! -Amelia

I love all the dresses she wears to "black tie" events, her street style is just as well picked. So lets get to it! :)

OPI Nail Polish "Tease-y does it"

If you have read any of my earlier blog posts you may know that I have struggled with biting my nails, I finally "kicked" the habit! :) So today I am going to show you my to-date nail color! I absolutely love OPI nail polish it is my all time favorite I love the brush, the colors, and I have to same the names are adorable! Today I decided to paint my nails in the color Tease-y Does It, it is between a brown/puple/maroon color with glitter in it! , I am pretty sure this is from the burlesque line, not totally sure because I bought it at a salon. So here it is!

Here is the color! I know summer is for spring-y colors but, I wanted to do something kinda dramatic!

This is it on my nails! I think it's a fun color it actually has a lot of glitter in it which I'm in love with!  :) I would really recommend this color if you are wanting something kinda dark but still on the fun side for summer!

Thank you all for reading! I would love to read your comments! Please make sure to follow me on twitter and follow my blog! I really appreciate you all! Love ya! -Amelia xoxo

Entertainment Monday #3

Emma Stone!

This week for entertainment Monday I chose Emma Stone she is an up and coming actress who has a super cute and down to earth style. She has been in movies like House Bunny, Easy A, and Crazy Stupid Love which were all sooo good! I love the way she doesn't dress super expensive and it's easy to get her looks! She is also maybe one of the funniest girls on T.V. at the moment and one of my personal fav's!! So lets get to the look!! :)

The outfit is really calm and not to flashy, casual.

Starting from the bottom as always!

Here is my version of the outfit! I'm in love, plus you could switch out  the shirt for a white tank or the pants for black shorts for an even cooler outfit!

Thank you all for reading, I've been making lots of friends and I'm so glad I am! :) Please comment, follow, tweet/follow me on twitter, or e-mail me! I would really appreciate it! I will post again on Thursday! Love you all sooo so much! -Amelia

Bobbi Brown "Party Eye Palette"

Today I decided that I would do a review on the Bobbi Brown Party Eye Palette. I was lucky enough this year to get this for my birthday and have been using it ever since. The palette includes the colors Bone, Champagne Quartz, Pebble, Pink Blaze, Copper Sand, and Black Chocolate.

This is the palette, I think the colors are super natural but fun!
  • Bone- is a shimmery white color, its not very pigmented but it has a wonderful shine!
  • Champagne Quartz- is metallic it has a pink cast to it with silver shimmers.
  • Pebble- is literally silver glitters it has so much shine! It is the PERFECT party color.
  • Pink Blaze- it is as the name says pink, I would call it a rose color it also has lots of shimmers.
  • Copper Sand- This is taupe/soft brown color, (personal fav!)
  • Black Chocolate- It is a very dark brown almost black color it has lots of pigment and is super dark.
I did my eye makeup today with this palette, so I am going to show you a picture of it! :) and tell you my steps to get this look!
This is the first picture!
This is the 2nd picture! I love love love this look!

  • 1- Prime eyes (I used Benefits stay don't stray)
  • 2- Apply a layer of the color "Black Chocolate"
  • 3- In your crease apply the color "Copper Sand"
  • 4- Apply a thin layer of the color "Pebble" to add a little extra sparkle!
  • 5- I like to apply the color "Bone" below my eye brow, as a highlight.
  • 6- Finish by lining your eyes with your favorite liner (mine's Urban Decay 24/7 glide-one eye pencils) and then curl your lashes and put on a thick layer of mascara! :)
Over all I love this palette, the eye shadows are very high quality. My only complaint would be it needs at least one more dark color, there are almost too many shimmery colors. Plus it is a little expensive I think you would do just as well with a drugstore doup. I guess it all comes down to do you want to spend the cash??
Thank you all so much for reading! I would love for you to follow and leave your comments. Also follow me on twitter or e-mail me! The next blog post will be on Monday, I will leave some hints to it on my twitter so go follow!  Love you all! xoxo -Amelia

Nifty Thursday #2

My current obsession is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils! I love them they are my all time favorite eye liner. I have tried so many, but I like this one the best because it goes on super smooth and makes a subtle line. They complete my eye makeup by showcasing my eyes. I usually wear the black but when I'm wanting to change it up a little I will use purple. To apply I pull my lid out and smooth it over in a straight line.
Here is my eye liner on my eye today!
These are the eye liners I have the colors "Zero" and "Ransom"
These eye liners can be found at Sephora, Ulta, and Urbandecay.com I will link all the sites below.

Entertainment Monday #1

For my very first entertainment Monday I have decided I would blog about Beyonce Knowles. Beyonce has a gorgeous style and presence, from smiling through the Kanye massacre during the MTV music awards to her amazing music career. I love her songs, the upbeat sound of "single ladies"makes me want to dance and the heartfelt words of "halo" could make you cry.  I've been  obsessed with her ranging music over the years. But today I'm going to talk about her also amazing sense of style. I'm going to try and recreate/put my twist on one of my favorite outfits she's had from years past!

Starting from the bottom up!

Here's another picture of the outfit!
This is my version of the outfit. I do know this is not the exact replica but I like my twist as much as the original outfit! :) Its simple and chic.

Thank you tons and tons for reading my blog! :) I really hope you are enjoying it lovess! If you have any questions please comment, tweet to me @stylininthe618, or e-mail me stylininthe618@gmail.com Please comment and tell me if you like the new outfit! -Love Amelia

Super Saturday! #1

Give a girl the right shoe...

And she can conquer the world.. My new shoe of choice is wedges, they are a super fun shoe to wear to weddings, big events, to church ,or for a casual event. This summer I was on a mission to find the perfect-me-wedges. I searched far and wide looking for the shoe of my dreams. After looking just about everywhere including Belk, Macy's, and Dillards I was losing hope. One afternoon I was shopping in TJ Maxx and saw they had TONS of wedges at super low prices. I started trying them on one at a time, I tried every color from navy to nude. Then I saw these gorgeous, I would say, coral (some people might think pink) wedges. I tried them on, and they were perfect! So I found my perfect shoes at a perfect price. I feel like with shoes you really need to try them on, but if your looking for wedges online I would suggest using www.zappos.com/wedges they have lots different designs, colors, and styles.

My perfect-for-me wedges! Just the right height!

During my epic search for wedges I found these! Super cute! Just a little too high..
Steve Madden, 'Belk'
